GIG - STEVE WADE & JAMES FRANKLIN - Saturday, 26 June 2021 - 8pm-11pm
Father & son, Steve Wade (ex-Little River Band) & James Franklin, join forces for the very first time for a special show at The Wesley Anne to perform music from both of their catalogues together on stage. This special duo show will be unlike anything we’ve seen before from both Steve Wade & James Franklin.
Steve Wade, regarded as a "singer's singer" by his peers in the music industry, has gained a strong reputation as a performer, composer, vocal coach, guitarist, producer and music director. Over the years, he has worked in the studio, on TV, or live in concert with artists such as: Hall and Oates, Chicago, America, Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton John, Tina Arena, Ross Wilson, Dragon, Men at Work, Yothu Yindi, Bert Newton, Renee Geyer and many more. For the last part of the ’90's (for 4-5 years), Steve spent most of his time in the United States touring as lead singer with The Little River Band. In 2001, Steve released his self-titled album and has continued to perform around Australia ever since.
Growing up under Steve’s wing was James Franklin, who, now in his early 20’s, has played shows alongside 5 Seconds Of Summer, Daryl Braithwaite and Joan Osborne, played headline shows around Australia and the U.S.A, released two EP’s (Pumpkin Pie, The Laundry Room Mixtape) AND a full length album (KID) in 2020 that was promoted alongside a headline east coast tour. James Franklin’s songs deal with serious topics such as love, death and the meaning of life (but often with a generous helping of hope), accompanied by a voice that is “reminiscent of ‘70s soul greats….” - Tobias Handke - Themusic.com.au
Please join the father & son duo as they step on stage for the first time as a duo and bring to life their songs with beautiful harmonies and stories that could only come from a father & son.
